alvin

Alvin is a mobile using basic Timber dowel, screw eyes and rope, a remarkably simple, yet, controlled shape becomes a work of decorative art. By stripping the components to their bare minimum, one breaks away from decorative trends and overdecorating/Philippe Malouin

X Y and Z

Jean Prouvé never disguised the production process of his furniture. Weld seems were thus not smoothed off and the construction mainly responded to static considerations. Inspired by this approach, I tried to give an account of the production process through the design of the lamps instead of trying to obscure the process as it is common in industrial manufacturing. X Y and Z is a lighting series with joints that are connected through the simple method of crimping. The crimping does not only serve as a construction solution, but also constitutes a narrative feature of design. The shades are connected to right angle steel tube stands through a flexible magnetic ball-joint. The green hammer-effect varnish pays tribute to the tools that were used in the production process/Daniel Lorch

Juan, stool

The family’s materiality consists of a 5 millimeter thick plastic sheet with indents that allow the surfaces to be bent creating a stable volume. They are folded from a flat state to a highly robust volume, which gets secured by straps, additionally the chairs can be unfolded flat anytime for storing or whatever need for saving space/reinharddienes

Tonic

Tonic is assembled without screws or the use of tools. Tonic can be used in two different positions; horizontal as a Sideboard, or vertical as a Bookcase. To achieve this change the legs are simply taken out of the sockets and replaced in the desired position. This transformation allows Tonic to adapt itself to changing living situations and desires. The dark legs appear to be sketched and give Tonic the self-evident charm of simplicity and lightness/reinharddienes

le belge

The table-piece is base on a basic construction principle: The elasticity of wood. The flexibility of Oak permits a simple and astonishing way of securing the table-top and legs together by applying pressure using butterfly-screws. The need for tools to setup or adjust Le Belge is therefore nonexistent. The Butterfly-screws also allow to vary the height of the table-top to any desired position. The different size table-tops can be combined with one set of legs, and the table-tops can be turned-over due to the angle of the cutouts/reinharddienes

drop

The Drop Stools are made from a combination of an eco-friendly wood seat and precision machined aluminum legs. The concept for the stools derived from the production of the Soft Tools felt lamps, which uses large wood blocks to hand form their shapes. The wood seats are composed of unusable wood drops from local woodworkers in the Northeast Ohio area/objeti
